As spring settles down to business here in Finland, the IWG students make final preparations for their upcoming paddling trip to Canada. 
 
Mostly that involes a lot of getting excited, a bit of surfing the web and sometimes the occasional piece of work...

  Welcome to the website of Amanda Geard!

 

  Find  out  about  Amanda's  current  adventures  in  Northern Europe,   through her studies in the International Wilderness Guide Course in Finland. 

Five expeditions will be planned and implemented during the 10 month course by the 16 students from all over the world.

 

 

August 2003... (see the trip plan here)Three week hiking trip to Vodlozero National Park, Karelia and Archangel

February 2004... a snow mobile and arctic expedition for three weeks in Lapland.

March 2004... two weeks canoeing course, British Canoe Union, England.

April 2004... The Bear Ski.  Not quite as naked as you would think.  Its a solo cross-country skiing trek for seven days in the forests of Lapland

June 2004... canoe trip on the River Ileksa, Karelia and Archangel.
